CGEA Student Shines

JSW CGEA Trainer Cherie Brown and student Ashleigh Taaffe

CGEA Trainer Cherie Brown is delighted to announce student Ashleigh Taaffe has completed Certificate II and Certificate III in General Education for Adults, in a very short three weeks!

Cherie says she has never had a student through the program complete the course so quickly.

Ashleigh has been thinking about her next steps, a pathway into university and hopes to follow a career in either Nursing or Occupational Therapy.

Well Done Ashleigh we look forward to helping you fulfill your next goal!

This course will give you the confidence and skills you need to pursue a career in Administration, Reception & Retail. You will learn computing skills for email, using MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), record keeping, team work and customer contact.


Entrance Requirements
Basic-Intermediate Computing and Communication skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening skills in English)

Funding is available for eligible clients between the ages of 18 - 24 years and clients of the Workforce Development Centre. For people who cannot receive this funding, the cost is $350.

Recognise Your Retail Smarts


If you are between 16 and 24 and working in local retail business you can use your experience and skills to complete SIR20212 Certificate II in Retail.

JSW is offering smart young retail employees the chance to get qualified by assessing their workplace skills. This process is called Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

To be eligible for this program you need to:
  • live in or around Bunbury
  • be working full time in retail OR
  • be at school part time and working part-time work in retail

The Senior First Aid training program teaches the essential skills required to administer first aid to a victim of illness or injury until the arrival of professional medical help.    
The Royal Life Saving Society of Australia Senior First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years.
You will learn about: The DRSABCD acronym, recognising emergencies, using a defibrillator and will demonstrate the ability to perform CPR in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council.

2 Day Short Course 9:30am-4:30pm
Introduction to MYOB in Bunbury

Too Deadly Film Premiere

Celebrate the Premiere of 'Too Deadly' 'Come and see the 'Reel Thing'

JSW Training &Community Services and the NAIDOC committee invite you to a very special film event in Bunbury.

"Too Deadly" is a professionally produced documentary made by renowned filmmaker Paul Roberts and a group of local Noongar young people.

It chronicles and celebrates Noongar culture and is the impressive result of a state government funded Adult Education project to develop digital literacy in young indigenous people.

This premiere event also includes an exhibition and auction of Noongar Art, fine wine from Leeuwin Estate and great food and music. Please join us for 'Too Deadly' evening of film, food and fun.
